Singer, songwriter, and record producer Phoebe Bridgers was born and raised in California, and she earned extra money in her early years through busking. She studied vocal jazz and was even offered admission to the prestigious Berklee College of Music, although she chose to drop out after the orientation to focus on her budding career. Despite not pursuing further education for music, she worked with Sloppy Jane, Julien Baker, and producer Tony Berg, who worked on Bridgers’ first album, Stranger in the Alps, for free. As a solo artist, Bridgers’ compelling songwriting explores deep, personal themes, and she has also worked with hitmakers Lorde, Kid Cudi, and Taylor Swift.
The indie rock music of Alex G is uniquely combined with lo-fi aesthetics, and like Phoebe Bridgers, his music is greatly inspired by Elliot Smith. On this show, he’s bringing the Real Thing for the audience to enjoy!
